Movement Class - 1st Assignment

I. GOT. FREAKING. 98. POINTS. GYAAAHHHHH.

Teacher’s comments:

Nice start.

Very playful nice & clear.

Great focus in face before you fell to the floor.

Good agility in your body.

Nice full movements when searching.

Love the sound with fist.

Great good clear ending.

Very strong first piece.

98/100

*screams* KYAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YATTA YATTA YATTA!!!!!!!!! I thought mine was sooo much worse than the othersssss *squeeee* ureshii ureshii ureshii~~ XDD

[EDIT: I just remembered we were supposed to keep the performances anonymous. I don't think this violates the rule but just in case. *STARTS CENSORING NAMES*]

[CENSORED]’s piece was awesome (I like the way he aligned himself, the lying down on his back bit with his face towards the audience was so good, the angle he chose managed to convey the feeling he wanted to convey perfectly, choice of song fitted perfectly with his movement, absolutely STUNNING piece), as was [CENSORED]’s (beautiful, graceful movements, great emotion in face and expression, amazing emotional impact), and [CENSORED]’s (I loved the flailing around in circles and tumbling on the floor bit - that was a masterpiece of movement). [CENSORED]’s was funny and touching at the same time. I felt for him so bad. About three of the girls, I think, were AMAZING dancers. more than that, I think. Four or five of them. And all the others were GREAT. Absolutely amazing.

Ahahaha a lot of people used the same struggling on the ground and falling movements that I did. Damn. I knew I wasn’t being original but practically every other person had the same type of movement that I used. Urgh. I think I did better during rehearsal. BUT STILL. 98 POINTS. MY HARD WORK PAID OFF. GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I think lots of people got higher than that, though. Ah well. Doesn’t matter. I’ll continue to work hard and get an A in this course! WHEE! I just realized that if I get 6 Bs and 2 As this semester I’ll have a GPA of 3.25 which I need to maintain my scholarship…… that goal doesn’t seem so unattainable now……

Movement Class - 2nd Assignment

Good clear start.

Did you intend for it to be comic? -> It came off that way because there was a staccatoness to the movements.

What would have happened if you would have acknowledged the passer by? (Apparently someone passed by my partner. I didn’t notice. At all. OTL)

Amazing use of space & movement - love the section on the landing - great audience perspective by looking down.

Bravo - Excellent ending.

Great job - can see you rehearsed A LOT.

98/100

WHEEEEEEEEEEE. XD I liked that it came off as comic. And that people were laughing. Even though we didn’t plan for it to be comic. AHAHAHA. XD I didn’t really think about that when we were rehearsing. But it was awesome, I mean, that people were laughing. AWESOME SHIT. XD And hell yeah I rehearsed a lot. On my own. Because of scheduling difficulties. But my partner didn’t need to rehearse anyway she improvised all that shit on her own man. I can’t do that. I need to prepare, I need extensive rehearsing. So I did. LOL. IT WAS WORTH IT. TOTALLY WORTH IT. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. XDD *is happy*

My First Year Seminar

Ahhhhhhhhh~~~ 好开心哦哦哦哦哦~~~

First Year Seminar SciFi Film and Lit is turning out to be the most amazing class everrrr. I think I’m looking forward to it even more than my musical theatre classes, sometimes. Ahahahahaha KYAAA KYAAA KYAAAA~~~

The professor’s this old Danish woman called Vibieke Petersen, but she asks us to call her Vibs. Anyway Vibs is AWESOME. She’s really funny, very liberal, highly intelligent and perceptive, duh, of course, she’s a professor but oh gods damn it it is SO good to be able to hold a decent intellectual conversation with someone for once, I mean, she’s a rich source of knowledge and insight and I’ve learnt sooooo soooooooo much stuff from her. Hurr~~ I love her. Yes. Anyway she praised me last class, it was like:

Vibs: So where are you from?

Me: Malaysia.

Vibs: Oh~ I thought you went to high school here…

Me: No, I didn’t. XD I went to high school in my own country.

Vibs: Well they have given you an excellent education. *wink*

Oh, and before that~ we talked a little bit and she explained about why she didn’t let me talk so much in class, ahahah, she’s done that so many times already I think she knows that I was just a little hurt when she shut me up that first time I was a bit… err… overenthusiastic about expressing my opinions. Haha~ and then she told me, she told me she was really happy I was in her class! And I was like OMG OMG OMG, like, awwww that’s so sweet and anyway - self-esteem increase 1000%!! I think if it was manga I would have melted into a mass of squiggly limbs and goo. XD And then… I told her I was really happy that she was my teacher too. And she was like good then everyone’s happy and I was like YEY~ XD

Oh and I’ve been getting high marks for my response papers in this class, like, nothing below 90, and then last time on the environmental issues one I got 100% ^///^ and the latest one about apocalypse I got 98% because my response was too long and I used a small font and maybe because I didn’t cite any sources. >.<>.<>

I love praise like crazy. I - simply - LOVE it. I’m fucking arrogant that way. And I despise that. And I don’t want to be arrogant. I hate myself for being like this. And this freaking fear of being arrogant is interfering with my enjoying the praise and just accepting it and going on like normal. Praise interferes with my thought processes tremendously. Hurr. I take on paper praise much better than face to face because - yeah - if it’s face to face, mind goes blank, don’t know how to respond, blah blah blah, but recently I’ve decided to just say ‘Thank you’ when someone goes ‘OH YOU”RE SKINNY’ and all that shit but if it’s on paper I can handle it because I don’t have to respond to the person praising me. Hahaha~

Air Travel Guide

Air Travel can be very messy and stressful unless we know the procedures of each airport.
Here are some guide lines based on my personal experience.

1. Booking Air Tickets

You can always book air ticket through a travel agent or online by yourself. Normally booking through a travel agent is cheaper. After booking, you should print out the e-ticket (the itinerary) because you need the e-ticket number to check in at American airports. For example, if you are coming back to Penang, you can log in to http://www.aa.com (American Airline) and book the ticket. You can specify the city you depart and the destination city, and the departure date and the returning date. Normally American airline corporate with Cathy Pacific to complete the whole trip.

2. At the airport, you have to go to the airline counter and check in your luggage. At Penang airport, you have to get your luggage scanned before you proceed to check in your luggage. Normally the luggage will end up at the last destination unless you want to stop in other city for one two days.

3. At US first landing airport, you have to go thorough the imegresen check point where they check your passport and VISA as well as I-20 if you are a student. You have to go thorough the custom check too. If you are only transit at that city, you don't have to claim your luggage. Straight away go to a connectiong flight (we call transfer or tansit). Normally you have to go through security check if you are boarding another flight in US. At you need to take off your shoe and take out your laptop. They won't check the software you use.

4. Remember to retain the I94 form and return to airline counter at the airport you depart from US.
5. There is no custom check at US airport when you are leaving US.
6. The information at Los Angeles Airport is a bit haphazard. For example, when you arrive at Terminal 4 from an internal flight, you have to exit this terminal and walk to the International Terminal(Tom Bradley International Terminal , TBIT) and look for the airline counter.
7. Normally the American airline will inform the departure gate before arrival but Cathy Pacific won't inform you but you can refer to the digital board. Normally International Terminal for transfer is Gate E2 at Hongkong Airport.
8. Remember, we always aks the airport personnel if we don't have enough information.
9. Very important to look after you travel document carefully, that is your passport and e-ticket.

Cars disaster scene

This is where they make a car disaster scene.

House for making movie

A typical American house.

Special effects Studio

This is the place they create all kinds of special effects! They can just take your video and put you inside in scene of a movie immediately, replacing the actor inside! For example, they can make you murder by somebody instead of the actor inside. Very interesting! Yi and xun sure like it. Must come and visit one day. Good learning experience!

Jaws!

Great white shark appearing with blood in the water! This is the place Steven Spielberg created Jaws!

Earthquake in a tunnel

As we entered a tunnel for the train, earthquake happened and the train came crashing on us! Everything was shaking vigorously! Very real and scary!

The making of disaster scene

This is a series of three pictures that create a water disaster scene! Water rushing down and came near us in split seconds, and splashing on us! very scary! This is part of the universal studio ride! This is the place they make disaster show.

Boat for venturing in Jurrasic part.

Once enter the boat got to hold tight to the safety bar, so cannot take photos. Saw all kinds of robotic dinosaurs inside, and look very real! At one part we entered a cave almost vertically up, and were attacked by tyrannosaurus at close range! Then the killing ride down the waterfall to escape the dinosaur attack!

Jurrasic Park

Very exciting and scary ride! Last part the boat slide down a waterfall at fast speed! Xiang was trembling for 10 minutes or so!
